Travelling without a car

The nearest SNCF station is La Rochelle, with direct LGV services from Bordeaux, Nantes and Paris. Regional coaches 3 and 3E will provide a link between La Rochelle and Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré in 1 hour 25 minutes (La Glacière stop). Check timetables on iledere.com. The campsite is just a 5-minute walk from the stop.

Coming by car

We have 6 charging points for electric vehicles in our car park, each charging €10. You need to bring your own cable. Further information from the campsite reception.

There is a charge for crossing the Ile de Ré bridge by car. Make the most of a friendly, environmentally-friendly journey by carpooling with other campers! The Mobicoop car-sharing site operates without any service charges.

On the island, Rezo Pouce is a safe and much-used hitch-hiking network, where holidaymakers will stand up and give a thumbs-up; Try shared mobility and answer the call of hitchhiking for a unique and environmentally-friendly adventure.

Getting around the island without a car

From the campsite, it’s a short walk to Le Bois-Plage town centre with its market, beaches and various activities…

From the campsite, you can cycle to the beaches and town centre of Le Bois-En-Ré and La Couarde in just 5 minutes. Saint-Martin-de-Ré and Loix in 15 minutes, and reach the end of the island in an hour!

On-demand shuttles provide quick and easy access to the other villages from the campsite! To book your transportRespiRé : 05 46 09 20 15..

By public transport, the various free shuttles on the island, RespiRé and buses 3 and 3E will take you to all four corners of the island.

Finally, the Rezo Pouce service offers safe hitchhiking areas so you can give your thumbs up in complete safety!

    Opening hours for campsite and services

    You can use our campsite from April to September inclusive, i.e. from March 29 to September 29, 2024. During the season, take advantage of the services available on site: reception, sanitary facilities, children’s play areas, bed linen and towels.

    Reception is open throughout the season at the following times (for information only, subject to change):

    Low season: 8am-7pm
    High season: 8am-7pm;

    Are you due to arrive after reception closing hours? Don’t worry, at Tamarins Plage we’ve thought of everything! Let our reception staff know your arrival time. We’ll send you all the information you need for your late arrival by e-mail or telephone: where to pick up your key or badge, campsite map, service timetables.

    Security and bonding

    At Tamarins plage, everyone’s peace of mind is paramount. Our entrance and exit gates are unavailable at night, and are accessible by badge from 7am to 11pm. For holidaymakers arriving after hours, parking spaces are available around the campsite. Pedestrian and bicycle access to the campsite is available 24 hours a day, at the gates.

    What’s more, our campsite is guarded at night in summer. Our janitor makes several rounds and ensures that holidaymakers comply with the house rules and maintain complete silence. In the event of an incident or noise disturbance, you can report it to the security guard or contact an emergency number which will be given to you on arrival.

    A systematic end-of-stay check is carried out by our team for rental stays. Sign up for the check-out schedule and prepare for the end of your stay with peace of mind. Entry inspections are not carried out at Tamarins plage, as they are carried out by our hygiene teams beforehand.
